ROHAN BEST TO MAKE NRL DEBUT 

The Penrith District Rugby League Referee’s Association will celebrate another significant milestone for one of it’s members this weekend with Rohan Best to make his debut as a touch judge in the National Rugby League. 

Round 19 plays host to the National Rugby League’s Men of League Heritage Round and Rohan has been appointed to the fixture between the Newcastle Knights and the Gold Coast Titans at Hunter Stadium on Saturday night.  His NRL number will be 139. Fellow Penrith member Rickey McFarlane will also be a part of this special occasion, having been appointed to the same the match. 

Rohan joined the Penrith Association back in 2001 and is a graduate of the Penrith Referee’s Development Squad Program. During his time in the Penrith District, Rohan was a regular in the A Grade Competitions, including a number of finals series fixtures. Rohan was graded to the New South Wales Rugby League Referee’s Association as member number 971 at the commencement of the 2014 season and was made a Life Member of the Penrith Association in the same year. He is the second Penrith Association member to make his NRL debut in Season 2015 behind Lawrence McDonell.
