BREAKING NEWS – SARAH FORD ELECTED AS 2022 LIFE MEMBER
It is with great please we announce that on Monday night at our Annual General Meeting, Sarah Ford was elected as the 2022 Life Member of the Penrith District Rugby League Referees’ Association.
Sarah joined the Penrith District Rugby League Referees Association in the year 2000 and has remained a financial member since. Sarah served on the Social Committee between 2006 and 2009, and again from 2011 to 2014. In 2008 Sarah served on the Board of Management and the following year she was elected Vice President of the Association, also serving as the Social Secretary.
In season 2010, she was the Assistant Director of Finance and Sponsorship. From 2011 until 2014, Sarah served as the Association’s Executive Officer. She was a patron to the Junior Branch of the Association in 2013.
Through her role on the Advisory Panel (also referred to as Referee Development Officer), Sarah has coached and mentored junior members, serving on that panel from 2010 to 2014, and again in 2016, 2018 and 2020. She was a Welfare Officer in 2018 and was elected as a Judiciary Representative for the 2021 season. Sarah has twice been a recipient of one of the Association’s most prestigious awards, receiving the Jack Harris Senior Merit Award in both 2008 and 2009. She is one of only a handful of members to receive this award on two occasions, and the only person to receive it in consecutive years. Sarah continues to take an active role in the Association, both through officiating herself and providing guidance to junior members. In recent years, she has also been an enthusiastic contributor to local mini-mod gala days. Between 2000 and 2020, Sarah has attended 61.35% of Association meetings held.
