Representative Round News

Tonight marks the beginning of the 2016 Representative Round with the ANZAC Test Match to be played at Hunter Stadium in Newcastle. Over the course of this weekend there will be a number of much anticipated Representative Fixtures played across a number of venues and Penrith Referee's Association is proud to have a number of it's members appointed to officiate in these fixtures.

On Tuesday afternoon the National Rugby League announced that Grant Atkins will be the Head Referee for the 2016 City v Country match, which will be played in Tamworth on Sunday. Russell Turner will officiate as a Touch Judge in the Test Match between Fiji and Papua New Guinea, with Jason Robinson appointed as a Review Official for the same match. It was also announced that Rohan Best will be a Touch Judge for the 2016 Junior Test Match between Australia and New Zealand. Both of these games will be played at Pirtek Stadium in Parramatta on Saturday.

The New South Wales Rugby League Referee's Association also announced this week that Penrith Referee's member Daniel Olford will take control of the International Fixture to be played between the Cook Islands and Lebanon at Belmore on Sunday, with John Woods appointed as a Touch Judge for the same match. Stephen Bourke has also been appointed as a Touch Judge for the Under 16's fixture between the same two countries, which will be played as a Curtain Raiser to the main game.

The Penrith Referee's Association congratulates all seven members on their respective appointments and wishes them the best of luck for this weekend. The details for the five games can be found below.
