Penrith Referees Raise Over $4K for Cancer Council

This past weekend Penrith Referees continued what has become an annual tradition by participating in the Cancer Council Relay for Life.

The event was again held at Howell Oval in Penrith and the task of organising the Penrith Referees team was taken on by Luke Burton. Luke did a sensational job in arranging donations, raffle prizes and even donated some substantial items himself. He was greatly assisted by both Stephen Bourke and Amber Fitzgerald, who braved the cold with Luke to set up the tent early Saturday morning and remained over the course of the 24 hour relay.

In total the team raised $4,200 to go directly to the NSW Cancer Council and completed many kilometres around the Howell Oval track. A special mention to Josh Vernon, who alone contributed 50kms.

Thank you to all the members who participated or donated and those who dropped in throughout the 24 hours to show their support. We look forward to raising even more next year!
